Our Legends & Lore Festival is now over
but our Summer Fairy Trail is extended until Monday 7th August. No need to book

Our Woodlands has been transformed into a magical fairy grove perfect for curious children, expect to see the arrival of many more fairy and elf doors. We have an extended Fairy Trail sheet and children can enter into a competition for a very special prize. No need to book but if you would like to book in advance please book a General Entry Ticket. Fairy Trail is included Free with entry ticket. (Runs from 10am to 5.30pm). Every Day until Monday 7th August.

The Legends and Lore Summer Festival at Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens runs from the 24th to 30th July, adults and children can enjoy the magic of Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens and experience the Legends, Folklore and Literature of Ireland and Japan. Children can enjoy Workshops on the lawn, Storytelling, Ukulele and Haiku Activity Workshops. Every day there will be an opportunity to discover the Summer Fairy Trail in our Woodland which will be transformed into a magical fairy grove perfect for curious children, expect to see the arrival of many more fairy and elf doors.

Adults can take part in the summer festival by participating in a very exciting Garden Literary Walk, enjoy music from Fairytale and Fantasy interspersed by the Spoken Word, participate in an early morning Haiku workshop with poet Mark Roper or attend the Seán Dunne Literary Trail Day.

THE GARDEN LITERARY WALK

Explore the influence of Yeats, Wilde, Poe, and Seán Dunne, intertwined with mesmerizing Japanese folklore. Immerse yourself in a captivating fusion of literature and nature for an unforgettable experience.”

SPECIAL EVENT

Seán Dunne Literary Trail
Friday 28th July
Waterford Poet, Sean Dunne’s work is an inspiration to aspiring writers, and this event aims to provide a platform to allow these voices to be heard. Earlier in the day there will be a Gathering of Writers Groups and Writers for Walks and Talks followed by the Launch of the Seán Dunne Literary Trail.
